Opportunity

As Harpur Memorial Hospital continued to expand its healthcare services and medical training programs, its existing facilities could no longer meet the growing demand. The hospital needed additional capacity while remaining fully operational throughout construction on its densely developed campus.

Response

In partnership with Hamza Associates, IDD developed the architectural design for a new nine-story hospital, planned as a phased development to allow continued operations and future vertical expansion. IDD also served as the Owner’s Technical Representative, overseeing the production and coordination of the construction documentation. 

Impact

The new hospital is designed to strengthen access to affordable healthcare while supporting the hospital’s continued growth as a center for medical education and professional training. Its flexible, phased design allows the facility to expand alongside the needs of the community, ensuring it can continue serving patients and training future healthcare professionals for years to come.
