CMA Community Center

Strategy

Opportunity

CMA has served communities in Guinea since the early 1900s through language teaching and personal, professional, and spiritual development. As its programs have grown, limited space has pushed several activities off-site, while the campus still needed to accommodate staff and leadership housing.

The opportunity was to transform the existing property into a campus that could support CMA’s expanding work while remaining flexible enough to respond to future needs.

Response

IDD collaborated with CMA’s leadership and staff to assess the existing site, conduct a rough survey, and develop a phased masterplan for campus growth.

The plan reorganizes existing spaces and introduces new facilities for offices, storage, staff housing, and ministry programs including La Zone, Envision, and aXcess. It also includes a conceptual design for the La Zone ministry building and new residential buildings for Envision and aXcess.

Rather than creating a fixed end-state, the masterplan is designed as a living framework that can evolve as CMA’s needs and priorities change.

Sustainability

The phased approach allows CMA to grow incrementally, making use of its existing campus while prioritizing new construction as resources and needs develop. Reorganizing the site and consolidating activities also allows the campus to accommodate more programs without requiring immediate expansion to new properties.

Impact

The masterplan gives CMA a clear and adaptable roadmap for growth, allowing more of its programs to take place on campus while preserving housing for its staff and leaders.

By bringing previously dispersed activities together, the campus can become a stronger hub for language learning, mentorship, ministry, and community development in Guinea.
